BY MA Studio reworks Persian rug weaving into contemporary jewellery and design. The studio shifts rug-making from a floor-bound function into wearable and small-scale sculptural form.

The work currently centres on jewellery and wearable pieces where handwoven textile elements are held within silver and gold frameworks.

Metal exists because it has passed through extreme heat; textile is a material that would be destroyed by the same temperature. Bringing them together creates a deliberate tension between what burns and what endures, what is protected and what protects.

Each piece is conceived as a single, self-contained work, not a template. Designs are not repeated.

While jewellery is the main focus, BY MA Studio treats it as one expression of a broader language that links rug technique, metal and generative design — a language that can extend to future objects, formats and contexts beyond jewellery.
